Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President & Controller to join our team. This key leadership role will oversee all accounting operations and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for our organization. This is a hybrid position based in Downtown Manhattan with a starting annual salary range of $180,000 - $200,000 and an annual incentive opportunity targeting 20%.

As our Vice President & Controller, you will manage the day-to-day activities of the accounting function, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting. You will maintain compliance with US GAAP and other regulatory requirements while focusing on internal controls, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes
  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain a system of internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the accuracy of financial statements
  • Lead the annual audit process and coordinate with external auditors
  • Oversee international accounting operations and acquisition accounting processes
  • Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing accounting team of 10-15 members
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operations
 
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
  • CPA designation required
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role
  • Experience with international accounting and acquisition accounting preferred
 
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems such as NetSuite or SAP
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgment
  • Ability to lead and manage a team effectively

  • This role requires regular, reliable, and predictable job attendance
  • Attendance at on-site and in-person meetings and training sessions is expected
  • Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, and managing 2-5 direct reports within a larger team of 10-15
