The successful applicant will have a hybrid or remote work arrangement, but must reside within a 125-mile radius of the AAA's office located in Downtown Manhattan. The starting salary range for the position is $86,000 - $91,000, plus an annual incentive opportunity targeting up to 10% of the base salary.
OVERVIEW
Manages and maintains the organization's network infrastructure, including hardware, software, and security protocols.
Essential Functions
- Configure, install and maintain network equipment, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and other related hardware and software.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues promptly.
- Implement and maintain network security protocols, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and VPNs.
- Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, policies, and procedures.
- Analyze network traffic patterns and optimize network performance to ensure maximum speed and availability.
- Work with other IT team members to ensure all systems are integrated and functioning correctly.
- Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to improve the network infrastructure continuously.
- Attend on-site and in-person meetings and training sessions.
- Ensure confidentiality; adheres to the AAA's information security and data privacy policies, procedures, and practices.
- Demonstrate regular, reliable, and predictable job attendance.
Education and experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 3+ years of experience in network administration or related field, including Cisco routers and switches, Aruba, network security technologies (firewalls, web proxies, VPNs). Strong working knowledge of network protocols and topologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN); or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, protocols, and security. Familiarity with various network hardware and software systems.
- Certifications in related technologies such as Cisco, automation, and networking (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE)
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication. Ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
- Thoroughness in network configuration, maintenance, and documentation. Commitment to ensuring network reliability and security.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving network requirements. Ability to quickly grasp new concepts and apply them effectively.
