Description

The American Arbitration Association (AAA) is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to join our team as the Regional Vice President of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Services in Chicago, IL.  In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing and promoting AAA's products and services within the assigned region, building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, managing cases, and ensuring adherence to AAA-ICDR rules and procedures.
 
The successful applicant will work on a hybrid basis and must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of our Chicago office (approximately 100 miles). The starting annual salary range for this position is $140,000 to $150,000 with an annual discretionary incentive award targeting 20%.
 
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the region's ADR services.
  • Oversee and manage the work of Directors, setting performance expectations and providing guidance.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to expand ADR services within the region and key industries.
  • Build and maintain high-level relationships with key stakeholders to promote the use of AAA's ADR services.
  • Serve as a thought leader and expert in the field of ADR.
  • Collaborate with teams to analyze market trends, user needs, and service quality.
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of the region’s panel of arbitrators and mediators.
  • Manage complex arbitration and mediation cases and provide guidance to Directors.
  • Develop and manage the region's budget and ensure compliance with information security and data privacy policies.
  • Collaborate with DVPs, Regional Vice Presidents, Panel Resources & Development, and senior leadership.
  • Oversee and direct the daily operation of the regional office.
 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in business, legal studies, or a related field; advanced degree strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in ADR, legal services, or a related field, with at least 3 years of management experience
  • Proven track record of business development, relationship management, and strategic planning in the ADR industry
  • In-depth knowledge of ADR processes, rules, and best practices
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, presentation, and public speaking skills
  • Proficiency in the use of technology, including case management software, CRM systems, and data analysis tools
  • Ability to travel approximately 20% to attend meetings, conferences, and other events
